Dr. Elizabeth Gilchrist
Registered Psychologist
Dr. Elizabeth Gilchrist has been a registered psychologist since 1997, offering individual therapy to adults and older adolescents presenting with a wide range of issues.
Dr. Gilchrist worked as a neuropsychologist at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital for 20 years part-time with survivors of stroke and brain injury, while maintaining a part-time private practice. She now works solely in private practice, but continues to see clients with acute and chronic health problems (including neurological and brain injury) and anxieties that can accompany health challenges. She has also had the privilege of working for many years with police officers, RCMP, military, and first responders and draws on this knowledge and experience in treatment.
Dr. Gilchrist received her B.A. in psychology from the University of Alberta, her M.A. in clinical psychology from University of Regina, and her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from York University in Toronto. She also undertook post-doctoral neuropsychological and health psychology training at Chedoke-McMaster Hospitals in Hamilton. Dr. Gilchrist has been interviewed on TV and in print regarding her anxiety and depression expertise and regularly attends and presents at psychology conferences.
